Theater theatreIt’s a new year and the calendar is starting to fill with plays, concerts, festivals and special events. There are deals to be had, as much as 50% off, and we’ve found them. Some of the newest offerings include discounted admission to the Denver Travel & Adventure Show (where you’ll find tons of travel deals) featuring the always popular Rick Steves, Lady Antebellum in concert and some St. Paddy’s Day bar crawls.

You can find real savings by buying through services such as Goldstar and Groupon. A few shows and special events happening late this spring or summer have early-bird discounts.

Free Kids Crafts Every Saturday at Lakeshore Learning

Every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lakeshore Learning Store offers FREE craft activities for kids (3 and older.) If you’ve never checked one out, Lakeshore is chock-a-block overflowing with games, arts & crafts, puzzles, blocks, educational software and more, all designed to teach kids, without them knowing they are boosting their brainpower.

No More Free Parking at Cherry Creek Shopping Center

The Cherry Creek Shopping Center is ending it’s “first hour of parking is free” deal starting Tuesday, January 21. So no more park and dash for customers who have just a quick errand. Going forward, the shopping center will charge $2 for parking up to two hours, and another $2 for each additional hour, according to new signage. No-Cost Cat Spay/Neuter Clinic

The Dumb Friends League has a spay-neuter clinic for cats. The clinic offers FREE spay/neuter surgeries for all Colorado cats, including feral cats, community cats (tame or feral free-roaming cats) and owned cats.  The Dumb Friends League Solutions – Cat Spay/Neuter Clinic operates Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 191 Yuma St. in Denver, near I-25 and 6th Avenue.

Other services include Feline Leukemia (FeLV) Vaccine for $25, FeLV/FIV Combo Test for $25 and microchip for $25. All surgeries are by appointment only and can be scheduled online or by calling 303-751-5772.

Colorado State Capitol Offers Free Tours – See The Great Gold Dome Up-Close

One of Denver’s most beautiful buildings is also home to our state legislature. The Colorado State Capitol welcomes about 300,000 visitors annually, with nearly 70,000 visitors taking tours of the historic Statehouse including its iconic gold dome. Night Lights Denver Projects Itself Into Downtown

The Denver Theatre District is about to get even brighter with the addition of Night Lights Denver, a permanent projection mapping installation. Dirty Dogs Roadhouse

Dirty Dogs Roadhouse in Golden is a place where everyone can sit down, have a drink or many drinks, grab something to munch on, and socialize! With multiple bars, one inside and one on their enormous patio, along with the some of the most attentive servers in the industry, you will never go thirsty at Dirty Dogs.

The atmosphere is open and inviting. The food is tasty and plentiful and the drinks are reasonably priced.

Their motto is “Park it here, this is the place to be.” How you get there doesn’t matter, as long as you get there. Dirty Dogs is open 7 days a week, with limited indoor seating, very large patio seating area, and live music or entertainment every day of the week on the outdoor stage.
