Interactive Map Added: Free Food Distribution Sites Across The Front Range

POSTED BY
Laura

Coloradans are a generous lot. Right now, dozens of organizations are offering free food distribution for families that need help, with some sites offering drive-through pick-ups. Others offer doorstep deliveries for eligible participants. There are even places where you can get free pet food.

What we’ve tried to do is list one-stop “shopping” clearing houses for you to drill down and find the outlets nearest you. If you know of an organization distributing food or household essentials, please email complete information to info@milehighonthecheap.com and we’ll try and get it added to our list.

Food Pantries

Denver Food Pantries

Below is a map of food pantries for the City and County of Denver. You can zoom in to a location, click on the color dot and get for more information.

See the legend on the right for the different types of food sites (including those run by schools) available in Denver. Click on any point on the map to see address and contact information, and more information about hours and food offerings at each location.

Metro Area Food Pantries

If you don’t live in the city of Denver, you can call 2-1-1 or visit www.211colorado.org to find the nearest distribution site or the Food Resource Hotline at 855-855-4626.

Click here for a map of food pantries across the metro area. You search by entering  your city or zip code. Pantries are still open to the public but have shifted to pre-packed food boxes for drive-through or pick-up outside the building.

Many pantries are also allowing folks to come on behalf of those without means of transportation– just make sure you have the client’s name and birthday to receive their benefits for them. We recommend calling pantries before visiting to ensure that the service is available.

Here are other resources for finding food distribution near you:

  • Food Bank of the Rockies food locations
  • Food Bank for Larimer County food locations
  • Community Food Share in Boulder
  • Care and Share Food Bank in Southern Colorado
  • Weld Food Bank

School Meals

The Colorado Department of Education has a comprehensive list of school meal sites that are currently available across the state. Go here to access the list.

You can text FOOD or COMIDA to 877-877 and receive food distribution locations for kids 18 and under.

You can also use this interactive map to find a school meal site near you.

Food Aid For Seniors

Dial 2-1-1 for information and services

All older Coloradans seeking assistance getting nutritious food can call the Aging and Disability Resources for Colorado Office at 1.844.COL.ADRC (1-844-265-2372)

Information for Meals on Wheels and congregate dining meal pick-up can be found at: VoaColorado.org/GetHelp or calling 303-297-0408

Food Assistance For Pets

The Denver Dumb Friends League has a list of food banks and pet pantries where you can find food for your animals.
