Westminster’s Halloween Harvest Festival has been transformed into Westy Fest on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from noon to 8 p.m. in Downtown Westminster. This FREE event includes carnival games, trick-or-treating, spectacular hot-air balloons, live musical performances by local bands, food trucks, jumping castles, a BBQ competition and more. You can even pick out the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch!
Most activities are free: entertainment, bounce houses, a mobile ropes course, trampolines and 30 carnival games. You may purchase food, beer and pumpkins.
Scheduled to perform:
1 p.m. — Be Kind Rewind
3 p.m. — School of Rock
6:30 p.m. Pandas and People
Six hot air balloons will arrive at 4:30 p.m. and inflate at about 5:45 p.m. Balloons will remain on the ground during the event and visitors can chat with the pilots and ask questions.
More than 30 teams are competing in the Meat Scream BBQ Competition. $20 will buy you samples from 10 competitors and allow you to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Voting takes place from noon to 3 p.m. Awards will be presented on the Festival Stage at 4 p.m.
A pumpkin patch will be set up on the plaza next to JCPenney. Prices depend on pumpkin size. Don’t worry if you don’t want to tote your pumpkin around the festival. A free pumpkin valet will check your pumpkin until you are ready to go home.
Everyone is welcome to dress in costume. Please leave any sharp objects or replica weapons at home.
Parking will be limited, so take the free shuttle. These will run every 15 to 20 minutes from noon to 9 p.m. Courtesy carts will be on hand for those with mobility issues.
Shuttle locations: College Hill Library, Westminster City Hall and The MAC.
If you do choose to park, use Harland St. to access all event parking. There will be no event parking in the downtown garage and you should not use lots at Olive Garden, Alamo Draft House or Bowlero.
Downtown Westminster is between Highway 36 and Harlan St. and 88th and 92nd Avenues (site of the old Westminster Mall).
