Have you heard the latest scoop? Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is opening its first scoop shop in Colorado. First, how do you pronounce it? In America, it’s pronounced “Van – Lou -Inn.” The ice cream company was started out of a yellow scoop truck on the streets of NYC in 2008. And the French ice cream’s popularity grew lick by lick until now with products in the grocer’s freezer and more than 30 scoops shops across the country.
And they’re now making Colorado a little cooler. On Saturday, August 6, they’re celebrating the grand opening of the new sweet shop at 1750 29th St. in Boulder. From 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., customers can enjoy $1 scoops.
Plus, the first 100 customers will receive a special swag bag. The shop also promises other sweet giveaways and more for the special day.
Van Leeuwen lovingly makes made-from-scratch French and vegan ice creams at its factory in the Greenpoint neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. And they’re scooping an exclusive limited-edition flavor at the Boulder shop — Rocky Mountain Road.
Don’t worry, Denver! They’re opening a shop in the Mile High City later this year at 1459 Larimer St.
