There’s a new way to save on prescription medications. Amazon has launched Amazon RxPass, a new Prime membership benefit from Amazon Pharmacy that offers patients affordable access to commonly prescribed generic medications that treat more than 80 common health conditions. With RxPass, Prime members can receive ALL of their eligible medications for one flat, low monthly fee of $5, and have them delivered free of charge. There are no hidden fees and no markups to the $5 per month subscription.

Here’s how to decide if RxPass is for you.

You must be an Amazon Prime member to enroll in RxPass. If you aren’t, there’s info on signing up below.

If you are already an Amazon Prime member and paying more than $5 for ALL of your medications, RxPass could help you save.

RxPass is available in Colorado.

Note: People on Medicare or Medicaid are NOT eligible to sign up for RxPass right now. (This is the one bummer we have found.)

RxPass is NOT insurance, but it can help those without insurance or if your insurance doesn’t cover certain medications.

More than 50 generic medications are on the RxPass list. Many people with diabetes, high blood pressure or anxiety will find their medications are eligible. You can find a list of medications here.

It’s easy to use. Once enrolled, you pay a flat fee of $5 a month and you get your prescribed medications filled as often as you need for the flat monthly fee.

RxPass also works with auto-refill, so that you get all your eligible prescriptions automatically for no more than $5 a month.

When searching on Amazon, the site will show you when a medication is included with RxPass.

You can add any eligible Amazon Pharmacy prescription or transfer a new one.

Prescription medication is quickly shipped to you for free.

To enroll in RxPass, Prime members can go to Amazon.com or Amazon’s mobile app to create or update their Amazon Pharmacy profile. Once there, customers will be guided through a simple sign-up process that verifies their eligibility and prescription information.

If customers have questions during the enrollment process or after a prescription arrives, Amazon pharmacists are on hand 24/7 to coordinate with a customer’s doctor or help with refills.

You can sign up for RxPass here.

If you aren’t yet an Amazon Prime member, you can sign up for a 30-day FREE Trial. If you like the program it then costs $139 per year or $14.99/month. There are also discounts for students and those who receive government assistance.

Prime members get the following benefits:

  • Unlimited instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows
  • FREE Two-Day Shipping on millions of items (no minimum order size)
  • Unlimited, ad-free streaming of over a million songs
  • Hundreds of books and magazines
  • Free, unlimited photo storage
  • Free games and in-game content
  • Prime “Try Before You Buy” lets you try on fashion items and only pay for the ones you keep
  • Access to Amazon RxPass

Even if you aren’t eligible for RxPass, you can save with the Prime prescription savings benefit — available for no additional fee — to get discounts up to 80% off generic and 40% off brand name medications at more than 60,000 participating pharmacies nationwide, including Amazon Pharmacy and the PillPack by Amazon Pharmacy service.

Amazon Pharmacy and PillPack by Amazon Pharmacy also welcome most health insurance plans, and offer low, transparent pricing for customers who use insurance to pay for their prescription medications. In addition, customers may use their HSA or FSA accounts when not paying with RxPass.
