Downtown Denver’s Sculpture Park has become home to the tallest digital Christmas tree in the country. Visit Denver and other community partners have come together to create a new holiday attraction, the Mile High Tree, in Sculpture Park at the Denver Performing Arts Complex that’s sure to become a tradition for locals. If you missed it during the holidays, no worries…it’s staying open through January 31.
The seven-story tall, 39-foot diameter conical structure features lighting and music experiences every evening from November 30 through January 31. Mile High Tree is 10 feet higher than the tallest Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in history.
The tree features nightly FREE public light shows choreographed to music and will accommodate up to 140 guests at a time for an immersive interior viewing experience within the tree. The January shows –there are two — feature Colorado songs and artists, as well as contemporary hits.
Yes, you can actually go inside the tree! The shows alternate every 15 minutes throughout the evening using pixel mapping technology through 60,000 LED lights.
According to Visit Denver and CBS4, these are the January tunes:
The first program features Colorado-themed songs and artists including:
– “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire
– “Rocky Mountain High” by John Denver
– “Carry Your Heart” by Wildermiss
– “I Need Never Get Old” by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
– “She Is” by The Fray
– “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers
The second program features a collection of popular tunes:
– “Conga” by Gloria Estefan
– “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé
– “Dancing Queen” by ABBA
– “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston
– “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge
– “Good Time” by Alan Jackson
– “Any Man of Mine” by Shania Twain

Entry to the Mile High Tree is FREE. Visible from Speer Boulevard and the DPAC Galleria entrance, the tree towers above a brand new holiday attraction throughout Sculpture Park offering lighting displays, festive entertainment, holiday treats and drinks.
The tree will be open from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. November 30 through January 1 and feature the classic songs of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and other holiday celebrations, all choreographed to a dazzling display of the tree’s digital lights. Between programs, enjoy recorded performances by the Colorado Symphony.
From January 2 to 31, 2020, the lights and music show will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and feature homegrown Denver and Colorado musicians as well as music inspired by the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo.
