Wanna dig up some past history? Check out International Archaeology Day on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. Anyone interested in history and archaeology is welcome to the FREE event. There will be demonstrations, hands-on activities, lectures and special site tours.
A variety of exhibitors will offer demonstrations, hands-on activities, and informational displays related to archaeology, history, and cultural sites in Colorado and worldwide.
The event features guest lecturers who will speak on various archaeological topics. This is a chance to gain deeper insights into the fascinating world of archaeology and its importance in understanding our past.
Guided tours of cultural sites and museums such as the Buffalo Bill Museum, Roxborough State Park, Lamb Spring Archaeological Preserve and Red Rocks Park will be offered. You can sign up for site tours here.
This event will be held outside in the Lower South Parking Lot #2. Shelter will be provided but be sure to prepare appropriately. Parking is available on-site.
