The metro area has many holiday markets (click here for a special seasonal page listing them), but Georgetown’s Christmas Market is unique. This the gateway town to the high country transforms itself into a bustling old-fashioned Christmas scene, as it has for more than half a century. Think a quaint European-style outdoor Christmas market, roasted chestnuts, holiday shopping for unique gifts, horse-drawn wagon rides through Historic Georgetown, appearances by St. Nicolas in his traditional dress, the Santa Lucia children’s procession, carolers in Victorian costume, dancers and other family entertainment.
Holiday lights and Christmas greenery adorn buildings in Historic Georgetown. A lovely little market on 6th Street takes place on two weekends, Saturday & Sunday, December 2 & 3 and again December 9 & 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Take I-70 to Exit 228 and follow the signs to downtown.
