Food is a precious resource. In the Front Range, it’s estimated that Denver has a two-day supply of food, with less than 1% of Colorado’s food produced in the state. The Feedback’s Feeding the 5000 campaign encourages the public to take food waste off the menu for good. On Friday, October 14, the organization will be at Skyline Park (16th St. & Arapahoe) in Denver to display the delicious solutions of using food wisely. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., they will serve the public a delicious FREE feast, sourced entirely from fresh, top-quality produce that would have otherwise been wasted. In addition, there will be a variety of personalities and activities on hand offering solutions to food waste, raising the issue up the political agenda and inspiring new local initiatives against food waste. Did you know a third of the world’s entire food supply could be saved by reducing waste — enough to feed 3 billion people?
