9NEWS steps up again to help the community by partnering with Techno+Rescue to host a huge FREE electronics recycling event celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 21 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Arapahoe Park Horse Track.

This event used to be held on S. Havana St. in Aurora. But, it has become so popular that organizers decided to move it to a much larger site. Anglers 64 and older are invited to a FREE morning fish-off with prizes on Saturday, April 21. The event requires a valid Colorado fishing license, and both live bait and artificial lures are permitted. The pond has a wheelchair-accessible fishimg pier. The Wild Animal Sanctuary hosts its Wild Earth Day celebration on Sunday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the festival is FREE. The day features a celebration with arts, crafts, vendors and food. The Sanctuary provides safe, natural habitats for more than 450 carnivores rescued from inhumane conditions. “Nawroz”, also known as “Norooz” or Persian New Year, is an annual spring equinox celebration observed by Iranians, Afghans, Tajiks, Azeris, Kurds, Uzbeks, Albanians, and many others across the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Balkans. Come join your fellow Coloradans of all backgrounds for the International Nawroz Festival on Saturday, March 24 at the Evie Garrett Dennis E12 Campus in Green Valley Ranch.
