See ‘Spellbound’ For Free At Denver Central Library

The spotlight shines on filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock as the Denver Public Library (Central Branch) screens Spellbound on Sunday, September 2 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The screenings is FREE and there’s FREE popcorn, trivia and prizes. Spellbound (1945) is a thrilling spiral of psychoanalytic confusion directed by the master of suspense Hitchcock. It stars Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck and won an Academy Award for best original score. 10 W. 14th Ave. Pkwy., Denver.

Travel Channel Films ‘Food Paradise’ at Boulder’s The Sink

Do you want to be on TV? Are you interested in how a TV show is filmed? The Travel Channel is filming a new season of “Food Paradise” and will be featuring The Sink’s food. Fans are invited to join the fun on Thursday, August 30 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the popular restaurant (1165  13th  St.) in Boulder. (They will be on location filming various segments from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

While there’s no guarantee, you just might make the final cut and be on TV. (Also, note there is no FREE food on the menu, just because of the filming.) If you’re not familiar with the show, Food Paradise airs every Sunday night and is one of The Travel Channel’s longest running series. Boulder Book Store Hosts Book Clubs

Belong to a book club or thinking of starting one? Head for the Boulder Book Store tomorrow evening, Wednesday, August 29 for Summer Bookclub Night. This enjoyable and informative annual event provides inspiration for a winter’s worth of reading. Final Friday Music Walk in Cheesman Park

The parks are alive with the sound of music. At least that’s the hope of those organizing a Final Friday Music Walk in Cheesman Park. Musicians, non-musicians, and everyone in between are invited to gather at the park on the final Friday of each month to celebrate a mutual love of music, self expression, and community.

Hip-Hop and Soul Artists Take Centerstage at Goodness Block Party

A celebration of Denver music and community, the Goodness Block Party with DJ Low Key & friends has been a signature event in RiNo since 2012. This year, the event is set for Saturday, September 1 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Taking over 27th Street between Larimer and Walnut, the Goodness Block Party will spill onto the space out front of its longtime home at The Meadowlark to feature a stacked lineup of hip-hop and soul inspired artists.

They include DJ Low Key, DJ Jazzy Jeff, YaSi, CRL CRRLL, TiRon & Ayomari, Kayla Marque, and Sur Ellz. 2018’s Final Summer Sunday on The Hill

Boulder’s University Hill, just west of the University of Colorado’s main campus, is generally the stomping ground of C.U. students, but on the last Sunday of each summer month,  it becomes a family-friendly playground with FREE kids’ activities, music and parking. The last of 2018’s three Summer Sundays on The Hill takes place on Sunday, August 25, from 10 a.m. to noon.
