How well do you know the history of Parker? Find out and test yourself during Parker Quest on Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fun starts at The Schoolhouse on Mainstreet by picking up a passport (between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.) with clues to find places of interest around town and start your journey.
Volunteers at each stop will help questers answer their Passport questions. At the end of the Quest, receive your goodie bag and enjoy festivities including music and lawn games.
The first Parker Quest was held in 2012 when Douglas County Libraries and the Parker Area Historical Society became interested in “Questing”, a game that is played across a community or geographic place. Originally coined in the USA, questing is similar to the concepts of letterboxing and geocacheing.
Parker Quest was established as a sense-of-place education program for folks to learn more about the historic downtown Parker area.
The Quest is a partnership between the Town of Parker and the Parker Area Historical Society. Participation is FREE, but registration is encouraged. You can do so here.
