There is no shortage of things to do around Denver for Valentine’s Day, but let’s face it, they can be expensive. You can feel pressured to spend a lot of money to prove your love. But a famous person (or maybe four famous people) once said “Money can’t buy me love.”

Here’s a list of some free and low-cost things to do (some typical and others wildly out-of-the-ordinary) in Denver-Boulder for Valentine’s Day 2020. It may be a bit chilly after dark, but that’s the point of Winter’s Glow, a FREE celebration on Wednesday, February 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Greenwood Village. Festivities occur in Curtis Park with fire dancers, ice sculptures, interactive light displays, s’mores and hot chocolate.

Need a break from the outdoors? Head inside the adjacent Curtis Center for the Arts to sip some champagne and view the current exhibit “MTNS”. 2349 E. Orchard Rd., Greenwood Village.

Finding bargains in Thornton is about to get easier. The Goodwill is opening its newest location at 770 E. 104th Ave. on Saturday, February 15. (The old location in Thornton closed yesterday.) The thrift shop is hosting a grand opening celebration for the community, starting at 8 a.m. The festivities include prizes, activities, treats and lots of fun. Plus, shoppers will have the opportunity to win Goodwill gift cards and an iPad. And, if you don’t win, you’re still bound to find lots of bargains on its shelves and racks.
