However, there is one reality competition shows that has truly survived to become one of the most popular of all time — Survivor. And the iconic reality show is crossing a major milestone that few TV shows (of any kind!) reach — 50 seasons on the air.

Survivor 50 premieres on CBS with a 3-hour episode on February 25, 2026 and the anticipation among fans for the new season is at an all-time high.
The milestone season’s contestants includes 24 popular winners and players from seasons past, as well as a few surprise celebrity appearances.

Of course, the show is only popular because of all the avid fans season after season. That’s why CBS is launching the 50th season with an opportunity for viewers to be part of the action with the “Survivor 50 Challenge”.
The “Survivor 50 Challenge” kicks off on January 31, 2026 with an opportunity for fans all over the country to find a Hidden Immunity Idol in their own state. Those lucky enough to find the Idol based on the clues will have a chance to win a trip to Los Angeles, CA from May 19 to 21, 2026. There will be one winner per state.
