What’s better than a sale at Sally Beauty? How about a location where everything is on sale all the time. Denver now has one of only two (the other is in Las Vegas) Sally Beauty Clearance Centers. The store is located in Lakewood and I revisited it this past weekend. MHOTC readers are going to love it. Everything is 75% to 80% off regular store prices and they’ve received a ton of new inventory.
You’ll find shampoo, conditioner, hair color, soaps, lotions, cosmetics, nail polish, makeup brushes and more. All is brand new, though the box may be a brand new or there may be no box at all. But, who cares when you are saving so much?
For instance, all hair brushes are $2.99 and there were dozens of options. I found tubes of hand lotion (in three different scents) at 4 for $1. Some high-quality hair dryers and flat irons are selling for $7. If you are into curls, 4-piece curling iron sets (a base and 3 attachments) will run you $5 for the entire set. There are also hundreds, maybe thousands, of bottles of nail polish in every color imaginable, all under $2.
The rear of the store was filled with boxes which I learned are incoming shipments from Sally Beauty stores across the country. Basically, once Sally stores have discounted an item and it doesn’t sell for whatever reason, they box it up and send it to one of the Clearance Centers.
That means brands and products are constantly changing, so your favorite may be on sale one week and unavailable the next. On the other hand, with so much stock coming in, you won’t find empty shelves.
While there is signage showing prices for most shelves of product, you may want to ask if it isn’t obvious. My friend Lyn learned the nail files were just 25⊄ and it can be confusing because many items have sale stickers on them, but the store’s price is actually much lower.

The store is at 10705 W. Colfax Ave. (just west of Kipling at Colfax) in Lakewood in the Westland Town Center. There is a Lowe’s here, but not much else. Don’t be deceived. Sally’s is there in the strip of retailers on the north side. Open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
