Now more than ever, the world needs to keep creativity alive, appreciated and supported. The arts have always been an important part of how we see and experience the world — from self-expression to social commentary. The National Arts Drive is a fundraiser for local artists and creatives across the country, including film, fashion, music, art and performance.
On Saturday, June 20, all artists across the U.S are invited to showcase and perform from front lawns, driveways, balconies and stoops. Here in Denver, the event runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
And, rather than having to go to a museum, art enthusiasts can drive around to take in all of the creativity (in whatever form) — right from the safety of their own vehicle.
The community can simply drive through suburban streets and city blocks to experience all of the creativity right in their own backyard. The experience is paired with a mobile site and an interactive map, marking each art installation or performance.
Even better, drivers can offer support by donating to an artist directly right from their car via Venmo, Paypal and more.
The whole experience is completely FREE for both artists and drivers.
If you’re an artist interested in participating, sign-up here. Otherwise, drivers can RSVP here for updates.
