Four Mile Historic Park

Take a step back in time at Four Mile Historic Park, Denver’s oldest standing structure and surrounding 12-acre history park. The site is open for tours Wednesday through Sunday and offers educational programming throughout the year.

Visitors can tour the historic house, meet the horses, goats, and chickens, and learn about the craftsmanship of the historic barns and outbuildings.

Nestled on the banks of Cherry Creek, the Four Mile House was the last stop coming west to Denver along the Cherokee Trail.

A welcome site for weary travelers, it was a place to wash off the trail dust, eat a home-cooked meal, or spend the night before heading in to Denver.

Today, Four Mile Historic Park showcase’s Colorado’s rich history and allow you to experience “where the American West comes to life!”

Museum & Park Public Hours

January to May:

Friday to Sunday: Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

June to December:

Wednesday to Sunday: Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission Prices

Adults (18-64): $8

Seniors (65+) & Military (with ID): $7

Youth (7-17): $6

6 & Under: FREE

Four Mile Historic Park Members: FREE

Admission includes a variety of family activities, such as gold panning, farm chores, and prairie games.

SCFD Free Days are generally held the fourth Friday of every month. Though depending on the month, they may be on the third Friday. You can go here to reserve a ticket for Free Day admission.

Get Free Devices To Deter Auto and Catalytic Converter Theft

Note: The AAA program is funded through July 1, 2022. Many shops are out of converter kits, so you may need to call around. Shops will continue to attached the etched ID while supplies last. If the program receives new funding, we’ll let you know. The CSP label kits and Sheridan engine immobilizer programs remain active. AAA Colorado is partnering with the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority (CATPA) and other state and law enforcement partners to give Coloradans free devices to stop automotive theft.  Motorists can now get a special traceable number etched into their catalytic converter for FREE.
