Last Full Day to Enter! How to Score Cheap Seats for Best Musical ‘Kimberly Akimbo’ in Denver

POSTED BY
Bryan

Want to play musical chairs? If you’re a musical theater lover on a budget and want to experience Kimberly Akimbo, there’s a chance to score “cheap” seats. The Tony Award-winning musical plays the Buell Theatre (1400 Curtis St.) in Denver from September 22 to October 5, 2024. Even more noteworthy, Denver’s engagement is the national tour launch for the popular show!

A new musical about growing up and growing old (in no particular order), Kimberly Akimbo is the winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Kimberly is about to turn 16 and recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban New Jersey. She is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush…and possible felony charges. Ever the optimist, she is determined to find happiness against all odds and embark on a great adventure.

There are a total 16 performances.

Sunday, September 22 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, September 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, September 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, September 28 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 29 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, October 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, October 5 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Here’s how the ticket lottery works:

All times are MST.

A separate drawing is held for each performance.

The discounted tickets are $31 — $25 plus a $6 service fee.

To enter the ticket lottery, you will need to do the following:

Create a Lucky Seat account or login to an existing one.

Select which performances you want to enter (or you select them all.)

MHOTC Tip: For the best odds of winning, choose “Select All” — assuming your schedule is flexible and you’re able to attend any of the performances. You can only win once.

Winners cannot transfer the tickets to someone else. You need to present a photo ID to pick up your tickets at the Will Call window.

Select whether you want one (1) or two (2) tickets. MHOTC Tip: If you’re going alone, look for another solo ticket seeker and partner up. It will double your chances of winning, if you each enter for two tickets rather than one.

Drawing #1

The first drawing is for the shows from September 22 to 29, 2024.

The entry deadline is Friday, September 20 at 9:30 a.m.

The drawing takes place on Friday, September 20 starting at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day as needed. All winners should be finalized by 9 p.m.

Enter here.

Drawing #2

The second drawing is for the shows from October 1 to 5, 2024.

The entry deadline is Friday, September 27 at 9:30 a.m.

The drawing takes place on Friday, September 27 starting at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day as needed. All winners should be finalized by 9 p.m.

Enter here.

IMPORTANT: Check your e-mail often on each respective Friday, especially because winners have a limited window to claim and purchase their tickets — usually just a few hours!
