It’s no secret, regular exercise, even just walking, improves your health. It also reduces your risk of heart and lung diseases, cancer and diabetes. Once a month at 8 a.m., physicians with National Jewish Health give a 10-minute talk about a health topic and then lead an easy one-mile walk, while they answer any medical questions on your mind.
Walks take place at Crestmoor Park (off of S. Locust and Cedar – near Alameda, meet by the tennis courts) or Bible Park (off Yale between Monaco & Quebec, meet near the baseball diamond) in Denver.
On occasion walks are at Cesar Chavez Park off of Tennyson in the Highlands neighborhood. Meet near the Tennyson sidewalk entrance.
Participants can also enjoy FREE coffee & breakfast, blood pressure checks and giveaways. No registration is required. The walk takes place rain, snow or, hopefully, shine.
Here’s are upcoming 2020 walks:
January 11 — Bible Park — Hypertension: What’s New?
February 1 — Crestmoor Park — Congestive Heart Failure
March 7 — Bible Park — Lung Cancer Screening
April 11 — Crestmoor Park — Bypass, Stents or Statins?
There are many more walks all over the Denver and Boulder metro region. Find a full list here.
