Denver Bake Fest at Rebel Bread

POSTED BY
Laura

Get you carbs on at the Denver Bake Fest. This FREE festival and friendly baking competition celebrates Colorado bakers and the diversity and creativity of the food community. On Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the courtyard outside of Rebel Bread’s Production Lab will be filled with 100 bakers (amateurs and pros), bakery lovers and all kinds of baked goods just waiting to be tasted.

Rebel Bread is an artisan, mostly-wholesale bakery based in Denver. They specialize in artisan loaves and coffee shop-style pastries, and love baking things that are “just different enough” – perhaps new flavors or styles of baked goods than you’re used to seeing.

Do I need a ticket to attend?

Nope! This is a free event to attend, but you will need to purchase tasting tickets if you would like to sample the baked goods.

How many baked goods can I taste?

Tasting tickets are $1.25 each. You can buy them online or at the gate.

Each ticket can be redeemed for 1 tasting sample, and you can buy as many as you’d like. Bakers are asked to make each sample to be a small serving (bigger than just a taste – like a full cookie or small slice of cake).

Tasting tickets are available online and in-person at the event. Please note that a ticket does NOT guarantee you will receive a baked good. Make sure to arrive early enough for the best selection of baked goods.

Where do I park?

Free parking is available on-site. The event takes place in a parking lot, and there’s plenty of parking surrounding the event. The event is also a short walk from the Alameda RTD Light Rail Station.

Denver Bake Fest Categories:

Brownies – Traditional brownies must be made with a chocolate base and no more than two inclusions.

Whole Grain Savory – Any savory baked good including breads, made with at least 50% whole grain flour.

Quick Breads – Pumpkin, zucchini, banana and cornbread – just to name a few! These versatile, cake-like baked goods don’t use yeast for leavening. Classic and creative entries encouraged.

Sandwich Cookies – Two cookies with a filling in the middle. The rest is up to the baker!

Fougasse – It’s time for fun bread shapes! All dough recipes and shaping varieties are welcome.

Gluten-Free Cakes – Any kind, any flavor, any icings and decorations. The only rule is that it cannot contain any wheat flour.

Event proceeds benefit Culinary Hospitality Outreach and Wellness, whose mission is to support wellness within the hospitality industry.

675 S. Broadway, Denver.
