The sweet shop is celebrating the start of spring with a FREE Italian Ice on March 20, 2026. They’ve been hosting the giveaway for more than 30 years now. And, for many, it’s become a tradition by kicking off the start of the sunny season with a cool treat from Rita’s in hand!

First Day of Spring Giveaway
Rita’s signature Italian Ice is made fresh daily on-site and available in a rotating daily selection from more than 80 flavors.
To celebrate the first day of spring, Rita’s is giving all customers a FREE cup of Italian Ice (6-oz.) in the flavor of their choice on March 20, 2026 at participating locations. Make it even sweeter by adding custard for an additional charge.
Rita’s is expected to give away approximately one million cups on the first day of spring!

Mystery Peeps Flavor
Plus, Rita’s is introducing a new flavor to coincide with the spring giveaway on March 20 – Mystery PEEPS. The seasonal flavor delivers the unmistakable Marshmallow sweetness fans love, but reimagined as a refreshing Italian Ice with a secret flavor twist. Rita’s is also adding a PEEPS Marshmallow Chick topper to its lineup this spring.
The mystery flavor will be served as a white Italian Ice, with its flavor kept completely under wraps — encouraging fans to guess with their taste buds. Fans can submit their flavor guess online at ritasice.com/peeps for a chance to win exclusive prizes.
There are two shops in Colorado — Colorado Springs and Parker. Most locations are open from noon to 9 p.m. Hours may vary by location.
