Omaha Steaks: Get New Skillet Meal For Just $1

Prepping and cooking meals can be fun, but it can also be time-consuming and leave a huge mess to clean up. That’s why ready-to-cook meals are so popular with just about anyone who’s busy, but has gourmet tastes. To this end, Omaha Steaks just cooked up a new product line, Skillet Meals. The 15-minute meals provide consumers with high-quality, flavorful dinners — perfect for families.

On Tuesday, August 1, stop by one of the chain’s three locations in Colorado for a delicious deal — Colorado Springs, Denver and Westminster. They will be offering its no-prep, chef-inspired Skillet Meal for just $1, all day. The deal is piping hot, given the regular price is $14.99. Each meal serves 2-3 people. There’s a limit of one meal per customer, so, if want to pick up a few, bring along friends or family. The Skillet Meal choices include: Moroccan-style Harissa beef and vegetables; Indian-style chicken curry with vegetables; chicken piccata; Steak Au Poivre; Asian-style pepper steak; and Chinese-style orange chicken.

Wanted! Wild West Kids For Adventure at Four Mile Historic Park

Four Mile Historic Park is seeking a posse of pioneers anxious for adventure of the Colorado frontier. Qualifications? A keenness for games, stories, races, wagon rides, nature discoveries and more. During Wild West Kids, children and their families will explore critters and the outdoors, compete in traditional races and contests, hear tales of early Colorado life and join in living history demonstrations.

The event is Saturday, August 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission includes a horse-drawn wagon ride. Pack a picnic and come in your favorite pioneer outfit. Free Backpacks! Back To School Carnival at Town Center at Aurora

Classic carnival fun comes to Town Center at Aurora from Wednesday to Sunday, August 2 to 6 to mark the end of summer and back to school. The festivities end with the Aurora Public Schools Back to School Kickoff on Saturday, August 5 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. FREE backpacks and school supplies will be provided to APS students while supplies last.

$8.11 Buys Entry Into 811 Run 2017 in Arvada

I don’t often post about local runs, but the price is right and the fun continues long after runners finish. The 811 Run is a 5k run/walk and public awareness event to highlight the safety message – Know What’s Below. Contact 811 before you dig. This certified 5k run is only $8.11 and takes place at Arvada’s Apex Center on Saturday, August 12. Participants receive a FREE running shirt and cool cape.

This family friendly (including your four-legged furry family members) run/walk starts at 8:11 a.m. A post-run Safety Expo includes games, music, prizes, safety demonstration and more. For the seventh year, the Civic Center Conservancy and Denver Parks & Recreation are hosting their Movies in the Park series. The public is invited to spend an evening under the stars (while watching stars on the big screen) in Civic Center Park. Natural Grocers Grand Opening in RiNo, Free Ice Cream Social

Natural Grocers is relocating its downtown Denver store to the River North neighborhood, an area often considered a “food desert” by residents. The new store will be located at 3757 N. Brighton Blvd. and officially open on Thursday, July 27. (Its downtown store at 2375 15th St. will be closed on July 25 and 26, reopening on July 27 at the new address.) To celebrate, the first 100 people in line on opening day will get to spin a prize wheel for a chance to win a variety of gifts, including NOW supplements, Nova chocolate and Natural Grocers-branded items. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is at 8:30 a.m. Even better, the new store will host a FREE community ice cream social from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. — featuring pasture-based dairy and non-dairy ice cream.
