DMNS: Free Presentation and Meet & Greet With NASA Astronaut Lindgren

If you love space, you’re going to enjoy this out-of-this-world, once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. NASA astronaut Dr. Kjell Lindgren is returning to Colorado for a special presentation on Wednesday, May 23 from  7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Lindgren will discuss his training and life as an astronaut, as well as his experiences onboard the International Space Station. He logged 141 days in space, successfully completed two spacewalks and conducted more than a hundred different scientific experiments.

Lindgren is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado State University and the University of Colorado Medical School. He worked as a flight surgeon at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, before being selected as an astronaut in 2009. After the program, enjoy a meet-and-greet with Dr. Lindgren.

Open House at Boulder’s New Museum

Though the new Museum of Boulder quietly opened its doors a few weeks ago, the FREE Ribbon Cutting + Block Party Celebration takes place on Saturday, May 19 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Expect kids’ activities, community art projects and musical performances by Block 1750, Kids House of Joy, Gabriel Angelo and Samba Colorado.

The Building Dedication and Ribbon Cutting are scheduled at 2 p.m. in the parking lot just north of the building, which opens at 3 p.m. Featured exhibits are Da Vinci Machines, Sportsology and Discover NASA. Broomfield Film Project Presents ‘Colorado Shorts’

 

Broomfield Film Project (BFP) is proud to present its first event, Colorado Shorts, a series of short films from the 2017 Denver Film Festival.  The entertaining combination of genres, including comedy, drama, documentary and animation, showcases the work of local filmmakers and actors.

The event gets flickering on Saturday, May 19 at 7 p.m. at Broomfield Auditorium (3 Community Park Rd.) The program runs for a 105 minutes — just under two hours. The program is intended for ages 16 and up. FREE tickets will be available in the lobby, starting at 6:15 p.m. However, there is a suggested donation of $10.

BFP is a new program of the Broomfield Council on the Arts and Humanities, offering unique opportunities for residents and non-residents alike to learn about filmmakers and the film-making process.
