Arapahoe Libraries continues to bring bestselling book authors to Denver, so that fans can meet these writers and discuss their latest works. Next up: Dion Leonard and crime author S. A. Cosby. These events are FREE, but you do need to register in advance as the meeting venues can often only accommodate 150 to 250 people, depending on location. Bestselling author Dion Leonard
Arapahoe Libraries will host an afternoon with Dion Leonard, ultramarathon runner and internationally bestselling author of Finding Gobi, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Smoky Hill Library.
Leonard was competing in a grueling 155-mile race across the Gobi Desert in China, when a chance encounter with a stray dog (Gobi) quickly became a life-changing bond.
Attendees will be able to meet Leonard and Gobi and hear their amazing true story.
The event is for both adults and teens. Light refreshments will be provided, with books available for purchase.

Award-winning crime author S. A. Cosby
Arapahoe Libraries will host an evening with New York Times bestselling writer S. A. Cosby on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites DTC.
At this special event, Cosby will discuss his new novel, King of Ashes, and the captivating world of Southern noir.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a master of modern crime fiction. Cosby is the author of Los Angeles Times Book Prize winner Blacktop Wasteland.
His previous novel, All the Sinners Bleed, was on forty “best of the year” lists and is currently being adapted for Netflix.
The event is for those 18+. Light refreshments will be provided, with books available for purchase from The Bookies Bookstore.
