Verboten Brewing & Barrel Project

POSTED BY
Sarah

Verboten Brewing & Barrel Project got its name from the German word for “forbidden” which the founders picked based on German beer-purity laws (Reinheitsgebot). These laws restricted 15th and 16th century Germans from using anything except for water, barley, and hops in the brewing process and still exist in a modified form today with the addition of yeast as an approved ingredient.

The “Barrel Project” portion of the name was added in 2016 to represent their dedication and love for barrel-aged beer.

Verboten takes pride in their ability to produce both traditional and experimental brews with something new to experience added every Friday.

Check their website and Facebook page for updates on events and what flavors they currently have on tap.
