Starting June 1, Colorado stores will stop providing single-use plastic carry-out bags, with limited exceptions. Colorado’s single-use plastic ban went into effect on January 1, but stores could use existing inventory until June 1, 2024. A great way to get rid of single-use plastic bags is to swap them for a FREE reusable bag. Plastic Bag Swaps are scheduled through this summer at various locations.
All plastic bags collected at these events will be sent to Trex, a national plastic bag recycling company, and given new life as outdoor furniture.
