Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo Boasts Show Specials

POSTED BY
Claire

snowboard snowboardingThe 28th annual Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo comes to town Friday to Sunday, October 25 to 27 at the Colorado Convention Center. The Expo is in October to help skiers and riders be fully prepared when Colorado’s slopes have all opened for the season. It offers the chance to get the best deals on season passes and multi-day tickets, and pick up equipment, apparel and accessories at great prices. It’s a good way to comparison-shop lift ticket and package prices as well2020.

Sun & Ski Sports returns for another year with a huge dedicated sales floor packed with last season’s  skis, snowboards, boots, outerwear and accessories at up to 70% off. Expo freebies include entertainment and all sorts of FREE stuff from stickers to candy bars, posters to lollipops.

New to snow? The First Timer’s Center is the go-to booth where “never-evers” can pick up information that is especially for them — the best beginner packages, January Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month specials, lists of essential gear, best prices on rentals, free lift ticket programs for 5th and 6th graders, Junior Trade equipment for kids, GEMS discounts to the state’s smaller ski areas and more.

Show specials available only this weekend at the show, or occasionally online for the next couple of weeks include kids’, college and senior prices. Resort reps answer questions and try to convince you that theirs is the best place to ski or ride.

Kids gravitate to the fun activities and play zones that include a high ropes course and the fast-paced and always-busy ELITEAM Training Center, sponsored by Purgatory, where kids can race through the obstacle course and fitness skills for a fun “snapshot” of their basic fitness. “Never-ever” kids can try Loveland’s gently pitched Kid’s Slope staffed by experienced instructors.

For high-energy thrills, check out The Skyriders, the Aspen Snowmass-sponsored double trampoline exhibition by top-tier athletes.

Returning to this year’s Expo is the Electronic Longboard Demo Course. Children and adults can play on the latest skateboard innovation that is easy and fun to ride–and is equipped with brakes. Beginners can get the feel of the long boards while taking a few laps on the outside of the oval course.

After mastering the motion, participants can test their skills and speed on the timed slalom circuit course for prizes.

As always, dozens of resort representatives from throughout Colorado, the western United States and Canada are on site with brochures, trail maps and early season offers on lodging, lift tickets and activity packages. Multi-resort and multi-national season passes will be on sale at several resort booths.

Expo entry is $15 for adults and includes a $10 GetSkiTickets.com gift card, a chance to win one of two Ikon Passes, and a chance to win one of three Sun & Ski Sports $1,000 gift certificates by completing a guest survey.

Click here for a $3 off coupon or look for a coupon in The Denver Post. Kids 12 and under are admitted FREE.

Show hours are Friday noon to 10 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
