McDonald’s: Get Free MacCoin — Keepsake or Free Big Mac?

POSTED BY
Bryan

The Big Mac is turning 50! In its 50 years, the legendary taste of the Big Mac has helped it achieve universal recognition and a lasting legacy. No matter where they live in the world, Big Mac fans recognize the two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a sesame seed bun as the iconic burger with a flavor combination that’s just as tasty as the day it was introduced.

According to McDonald’s, it sold 1.3 billion Big Macs in 2017. To mark the delicious occasion, they’ve minted their very own MacCoin. More than 6.2 million collectible MacCoins will be distributed globally in more than 50 countries.

Want to get one of your very own? Beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, pocket a FREE MacCoin with the purchase of a Big Mac at participating locations, while supplies last.

Then, starting Friday, August 3, redeem the MacCoin for a FREE Big Mac through the end of 2018 at participating locations. However, Big Mac fanatics may choose to keep the coin as a keepsake of their love for the iconic burger. We think many customers will choose the latter and even try to collect all five of the limited-edition coins.

The MacCoin will feature five different designs, each representing a decade of the Big Mac:

The ‘70s coin showcasing the decade’s flower power.

The ‘80s coin alluding to pop art.

The ‘90s coin defined by bold, abstract shapes.

The early ‘00s coin specifically focusing on the technology that was at the forefront of the turn of the century.

The ‘10s coin calling attention to the evolution of communication.

The McDonald’s app has a coupon for $1 any sandwich (excluding dbl QP). It’s good daily through Sept. Better deal than the BOGO.

Dylan — Yes, the app offer may be a better value, but getting your hands on a limited-edition MacCoin is priceless. For many, the promo is more about getting a coin, not the deal. Thank you for your feedback. -BKC
