Lakewood Hosts Huge Earth Day Celebration April 26

POSTED BY
Laura

Each year Lakewood hosts its Earth Day Celebration at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park with live music, entertainment, educational exhibits, electric car test drives, food, drinks and family activities such as nature walks and animal yoga. This year’s FREE event is Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Electric Vehicle Showcase / Ride & Drive

Thinking about trading in your gas guzzler for an electric car? Take a new electric vehicle out for a spin.

Check out a wide variety of electric vehicles and hear from their owners about what it’s like to own and drive one.

You can also try an e-bike.

Live Music

Performers include Pick & Howl and Super Magick.

Parade of Species & Costume Contest

Kids, adults and pets can bring or wear their favorite plant or animal costume or make an animal mask at the event. You can also decorate your wagons and strollers or bring an instrument.

Everyone is welcome to march through the festival in celebration of all of the animal and plant species with whom we share the earth.

Prizes will be awarded in the categories of Favorite Animal Costume, Favorite Plant Costume and Favorite Group Costume.

Be sure to gather at the gazebo at 2:30 p.m. for animal yoga and the costume contest and photo ops with Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl and mascots from local high schools, middle schools and colleges.

The Parade of Species starts at 3 p.m.

Food & Drink

A variety of food and drink will be available for attendees.
