It was once fun as a bargain hunter to go grocery shopping and walk out of the store with two or three bags that you bought at 75% off or more — thanks to the weekly sales, customer-friendly coupon policies and the use of multiple paper coupons. Die-hard bargain hunters would often pay pennies for toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, shampoo and more. Those days are long gone!

Nowadays, it’s more of a challenge than ever to find major savings because of all the restrictive coupon policy changes, purchase limits/exceptions, influx of digital coupons and near complete disappearance of paper coupons.
Well, fortunately, King Soopers has just made a coupon policy change that’s in favor of the consumer — a rarity from companies now. Any changes are usually not to the advantage of the customer!
New Weekly Digital Deals Policy
Drum roll, please! King Soopers is now making all of those great Weekly Digital Deals unlimited.
In the past, you were limited to five items total in a single transaction and that was it. Once the transaction was complete, you were out of luck, even if you wanted to pick up a few more boxes of cereal at $1.49.
As of now, there is still a limit of five items per transaction. However, the number of transactions you can make is unlimited. (The change was made in early March.)
This basically means you can buy as much as you want of a particular item on sale — just in increments of five or less. As an example, if you wanted to buy 12 boxes of cereal on sale, here’s how you would do it…
Transaction #1 — 5 boxes of cereal
Transaction #2 — 5 boxes of cereal
Transaction #3 — 2 boxes of cereal
And there’s no waiting period between transactions. You can simply do all of the transactions back-to-back in a single shopping trip.
The process may be a little more time-consuming, but it’s definitely worth your time — especially for budget-conscious consumers.
Making Multiple Purchases
If you use self-checkout to make multiple transactions, expect the register to potentially flag your transaction because the system thinks you’re not ringing up all of your purchases. At self-checkout, if you go to pay and the cameras notices you still have items in your cart, the system thinks you haven’t rung up everything in your order properly. This is one of those situations where an employee has to manually “approve your purchase” before you can continue.
If you go through the regular checkout, be sure to be highly organized, so you don’t go over the transactional limit and potentially pay full price for some items. Do your best to keep all of the items in each transaction separate, so, when you reach the register, it will make for an easier process. You might even consider grabbing a shopping basket to put in your shopping cart to keep the additional sale items separate.
And, finally, always check your receipt! Make sure you received the right sale prices for each transaction. If you didn’t, head over to customer service immediately for a resolution. Don’t just crumple your receipt at throw it away in the trash can at the front of the store. Take a few minutes to give it a quick review. You’d be surprised at how often there is a pricing error.

Clipping Digital Coupons
Unfortunately, you still need to clip the digital coupons to your account. However, King Soopers also made this process more accessible to all (in June of 2025) — even for those without access to the digital world. There is now a one-sheet available at all registers that you can simply scan at checkout that will automatically apply all of that week’s Weekly Digital Deals to your order. Ka-ching!

Important Note
The policy change only applies to the Weekly Digital Deals. Limits still apply to all other digital coupons. And digital coupons and paper coupons still may not be combined on the purchase of a single item.
