Independence Day On The Cheap

POSTED BY
Laura

Updated with the latest info and more events added! Because the 4th of July falls on a Tuesday this year, many of us will be taking an extra long weekend to salute Independence Day and are making plans. There are plenty of low-cost and no-cost festivals, parades and concerts in the metro Denver/Boulder area starting July 1 and running through July 4 itself. In fact, so much celebrating is planned that we created a special page — called, no surprise, Fourth of July 2017 (see the tab in the orange navigation bar at the top of our site), to include them all.

We hope this makes it easy to find a fun-filled, but budget-minded, holiday activity. If something should change (like the ever-fickle weather), we’ll update the page. Keep checking back and, when in doubt, be sure to check the event’s website. If you know of any festivities we have missed, drop a quick note to info@milehighonthecheap.com and we’ll add it to the list.

I think I saw somewhere that Elitch’s is doing their fireworks show on the 3rd, too. Can you check and confirm? Free to see outside of the park! I have a nice view from my apartment building’s rooftop.

The Elitch Garden’s website says that they will launch fireworks on July 4 over the park at the end of the evening. So if you live nearby, you should be able to see them quite well. – Laura
