We’ve had a ton of interest in our recent post about where to find free Thanksgiving dinners and food giveaways. Never has Colorado experienced a time when so many were in need of food. And with the holidays fast approaching, the rising cost of groceries and loss of subsidies (not to mention government furloughs) has been a triple whammy.

We spend hours researching online and in the field to find the latest on food pantries. And that list is especially timely.
But it hasn’t been easy finding Thanksgiving info. Even the food pantries tell us they can’t find much info to give to clients in the need.
Worse, many organizations — JFS, Mile High United Way, etc. — that are planning Thanksgiving food boxes have already maxed out their quota or only serving current clients.
So this is our SOS to MHOTC readers.
If you hear of a church, community center or any association planning to host a Thanksgiving dinner or distribute Thanksgiving food boxes, please send us the info. Include as many specifics as you can find, even a picture of a flyer/poster.
We’ll get the info added to the list as soon as possible.
We know that some of these events are planned at the last minute, as Coloradans always step up when called upon to meet a challenge. But we often don’t hear about them until it is too late.
We’ll take Thanksgiving submissions up to Wednesday, November 26.
Remember that our reach is wide with readers from Loveland all the way south to Castle Rock.
