Great American Picnic In Broomfield on July 4. Parade, Music, Fireworks & More!

Spending your 4th in Broomfield? The Great American Picnic at Broomfield County Commons Park promises fun for the whole family. Starting at 5 p.m., there will be inflatables, concessions and food vendors and a beer garden for those 21+. Add in the one-of-a-kind Bike Parade, then enjoy live music starting at 6 p.m. The evening ends with a bang with fireworks set off at 9:15 p.m.

Schedule of Events

5 p.m.: Event Opens

  • Inflatables: $20 for 22 tickets or $20 for a wristband and unlimited play; does not include the Euro Bungee
  • Euro Bungee: $15 (ticket sales end at 8 p.m.)
  • NurfTerf: Three games for $10 or unlimited play for $15
  • Face Painting and Balloon Twisting
  • Iluminar Aerial Performance
  • Concessions and food vendors open
  • Two Beer Gardens – East and West sides. Bring your ID and enjoy a tasty brew!

5:45 p.m.: Bike Parade

Line-up at the “South Blue” shelter west of the Championship Field at 5:30 p.m.

6 p.m.: Spinphony

7:15 p.m.: That Eighties Band

9:15 p.m.: Fireworks display

Great American Picnic’s Annual Bike Parade

Show your patriotic spirit and join the Annual Great American Picnic Bicycle Parade. Decorate your bicycles/tricycles/wagons and scooters and meet at the South Blue shelter, west of the playground, at Broomfield County Commons on July 4 at 5:30 p.m.

The bike parade is for everyone of all ages. Kids are required to wear a helmet!

Parking Info:

Legacy High School

  • As in the past, Great American Picnic attendees are encouraged to park at Legacy High School and use the shuttle buses to get to the event grounds.
  • There will be six shuttles, one is equipped to accommodate ADA and other accessibility needs.
  • Buses will begin picking up from the Legacy at 5 p.m. near the pavilion on the northeast side of Legacy Park.
  • Shuttles will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and two additional shuttles from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • All six buses will be running after the event to return shuttle riders to the Legacy parking lot until approximately 11 p.m.

The Broomfield County Commons

  • Very limited parking is available.
  • Accessible (ADA) parking is located at the Commons parking lot EAST of the Main Pavilion.
  • No parking will be allowed on Broomfield County Commons Drive, which runs between the Paul Derda Recreation Center and Sheridan, and will be shut down at 5 p.m., to allow for easy shuttle bus access.
  • All entry points to Broomfield County Commons will be closed either at 8 p.m. or when the parking lot is full. No access will be allowed after this time, so please arrive early if you are planning to drop off or park on site.
