With spectacular weekend weather predicted, the mountains beckon. Avoid I-70 traffic and head for a nearby mountain town for fall fun and (hopefully) fall colors. On Saturday, September 25, Nederland’s Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center hosts its 20th Annual Enchanted Forest from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Mud Lake Open Space.
Follow a trail to meet friendly animals (bear, fox, moose and even a crayfish) that talk about their lives in the wild and fill goody bags with special gifts. Visit the magical log cabin. Take tours of the forest.
Youngsters can meet live owls and eagles, plus enjoy magic and music throughout the day. There will be drinks and live music from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Tickets are $10 per adult when purchased in advance online, $12 on the day of the event and FREE for ages 65 and older and under 2 years old.
Visitors can take RTD’s N bus from Boulder’s Walnut Street Station. For more information, call 303-258-0495.
