If you want to get up close and personal with the National Western Stock Show’s 2025 Grand Champion steer, mosey on over to The Brown Palace Hotel (312 17th St.) in Denver on Friday, January 24, 2024. The prized animal, adorned with a garland of roses, will be escorted down a red carpet at 11 a.m. to take center stage during afternoon tea in the famed lobby. (The steer takes his tea from a sterling silver punch bowl. Two sugars, please!)
This is the last hurrah before heading to the auction of champions later in the evening. The public is welcome to witness the champ’s beauty up close for FREE from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Grand Champion will be accompanied by a beefy buddy steer, so you actually get to see two champs.

Try to get there early for the best shot at a photo. Safe and secure with handlers, the steers will be available to take pictures with up until 1 p.m. or until the steers decide they no longer want to be models, whichever comes first.
Attendees are allowed (one) personal photo with the Grand Champion. Bring your smartphone or camera.
One you finish your photo, you will be asked to mosey along, so the lobby remains as uncrowded as possible.
No petting the steer.
