Brush up your Shakespeare for FREE at the annual Shakespeare In The Spring festival, which celebrates one of the world’s greatest playwrights. This year’s festival is Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Cook Park Recreation Center. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. all ages can enjoy food, craft stations, demonstrations, lawn games and two live shows by the Denver Center for Performing Arts.
In addition to the Festival activities, DCPA performs abridged versions of two Shakespearean classics.
From noon to 1 p.m. see Macbeth, one of the Bard’s most acclaimed plays. The drama brings crime, intrigue and even some bloodshed as Macbeth seeks to become the King of Scotland.
From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., enter a world of magic, fairies and love as DCPA performs A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Both performances are FREE and no tickets required. Audience members are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on during the show.
