Shakespeare in the Wild is back this summer with “The Comedy of Errors” on August 14 to 30, 2026. This is Shakespeare’s fastest, silliest, most gleefully chaotic play about two sets of separated twins, one very confused town, and the kind of mistaken-identity mayhem that hasn’t aged a day in 400 years. Performances are free and held outdoors at DeKoevend Park at Goodson Rec Center in Centennial. No reservations are required, but RSVP via their website is encouraged for updates on weather or location changes.
Shakespeare in the Wild is simple: people need a reason to laugh out loud, sit shoulder-to-shoulder with their neighbors, and come together. The Comedy of Errors is built for exactly that — no prior Shakespeare experience necessary, just pure, laugh-until-it-hurts comedy under the open sky.
Company member and Director Aaron Vega is joined by clown professional Nick Trotter, who brings a rigorous background in physical comedy and clowning to the ensemble. Expect pratfalls, double-takes, and the kind of visual comedy that gets an 8-year-old and their grandparent laughing at the exact same moment.
Audiences are encouraged to bring a blanket, a picnic, and the whole family. (People are welcome to bring chairs if they require them.)
Every single performance is free, open to the public, and outdoors while the sun sets to the west— no indoor dates scheduled, but an indoor location is provided for inclement weather.
The performance area is 900 feet from ADA parking. A paved path leads (400 ft) to a dirt path (500 ft) to the grass seating area. There will be golf cart assistance to help transport those who need it to that seating area.
