The Arvada Center and African Leadership Group are partnering to host the Afrik Impact Community Cultural Celebration on Saturday, August 10, 2024. The event is mostly FREE, except for an evening concert ($20) featuring the music of Baaba Maal. This is a way to break barriers and build bridges among all people with a joyous celebration of Senegalese art, fashion, music and food.
A community celebration on the plaza begins at 3 p.m. This part of the event doesn’t require a ticket. Stop by to explore food, jewelry, fashion, music and more from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
At 7:30 p.m. is the Baaba Maal concert in the Arvada Center’s Outdoor Amphitheatre. Singer-songwriter Baaba Maal is one of Senegal’s most famous musicians. You can hear his music on the Wakanda Forever soundtrack and on his recent (April 2023) album Being.
The performance also features special guests: Ethiopian Youth Dancers of Colorado.
