Family-Friendly Nature Walk N’ Talks

POSTED BY
Laura

Now that the weather is cooperating, it’s time to get outside and explore. Arapahoe County Open Spaces, CSU Extension, Cherry Creek Stewardship Partners and Denver Audubon have joined forces for a new series of nature programs. Nature Walk N’ Talks are planned for Wednesdays, May 26, June 9, June 16 & July 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 17 Mile House Farm.

All three hikes will cover topics centered around the local ecosystem including native plants, insects, birds, watershed health, history of the 17 Mile House, and wildlife.

Leaders will discuss how to improve observation skills by using our eyes, ears, hands, and nose and through journaling.

Each program will include interpretative hikes perfect for families of all ages. Content will be different at each program. Feel free to join one hike or attend all of them.

The nature walks will take place at the 17 Mile House Farm Park, a 155-year old farm which served as an important resting stop for pioneers traveling on the Cherokee/Smoky Hill wagon trails in the 1860’s.

Tickets are $5 per person.

You can get tickets online for each date.
