Grillin’ & Chillin’ Beer and Music Festival

Trying to escape the city heat? Chill out in Idaho Springs at the Grillin’ & Chillin’ Beer and Music Festival on Saturday, August 3 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Shelly/Quinn Fields. There will be games, live local music, food and beer vendors, contests and prizes. This year the festival spices it up a notch with the “First Responders Chili Challenge” and keeps the heat turned up with a fierce cornhole competition.

This year, the festival spices things up as it hosts the First Responders – “Chili Challenge” and keeps the heat turned up with fierce cornhole tournament all day for cash and prizes. Other fun competitions include egg toss, potato sack, hula hoop and wing eating.

Here’s the entertainment lineup:

12 p.m. to 1 p.m.: School of Rock

1 p.m. to 2 p.m.:  School of Rock

2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: DJ

2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: The Kind Mountain Band

3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.: Announcements | Contest Winners | Prizes | 50-50s | Raffles | Chili Cook-Off Placers

4:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.: Nothing but Nineties

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.: RETRO: 80’s Tribute Band

Admission is $5 in advance and $10 the day of the festival. Buy tickets in advance here. Beer, spirits and food will vary in price between vendors.

Limited paid parking is available on site and is on a first come, first serve basis. (Suggested donation $5 per car.)

In-town parking can be found throughout the town and at the Argo Mine locations. In-town parking is run by the City of Idaho Springs and they may or may not charge for parking. A FREE shuttle will be provided with three shuttle stops positioned around town.

Proceeds benefit the G.O.A.L.s program of Idaho Springs, a non-profit dedicated to using a growth-focused curriculum embedded in outdoor adventures to connect kids to peers, planet, and self.
