Time to give Mother Nature her due. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, is the annual Earth Day. Here are some family-friendly festivals, fairs, recycling events, workshops and other celebrations we’ve heard about across the Front Range. Most events are on Saturday the 19th, with some the following Saturday.

Great Global Cleanup
8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Celebrate Earth Day by spring cleaning Westminster and the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District. The City provides supplies and disposal of trash bags. To thank participants, a volunteer celebration BBQ will be held at City Park Recreation Center from 11 am. to 1 p.m. All ages welcome. Find clean-up sites and registration here. 2025
Longmont Earth Day Celebration
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sustainable Resilient Longmont stages this event at the Timberline PK-8 School. The 10th anniversary theme is Planet vs. Plastic.
Activities include a live performance from Doctor Noize, raptor show from Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, community clean-up in Centennial Park, Sustainable Fashion Show, clothing swap & collection (bring your old clothes) and all-ages bike ride.
As always, there will be fun for the whole family, with upcycled arts and crafts projects, Ecological Virtual Reality Experience from the SVVSD Mobile Lab, music, food trucks, educational booths, and baby goats from Growing Gardens.

Earth Day Celebration at the Blue Bear
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Held outside the Colorado Convention Center at the Blue Bear. Live music, giveaways, demonstrations and snacks.
There will be booths from Country Fair Garden Center, Pets Supplies Plus, Ace Hardware, Mile High Workshop, Arthotspot.com, Ridwell, Alliance for Sustainable Energy, SunShare Community Solar, UpDoNA, Lost Greens Farm and Lifeline Puppy Rescue.
Live music from Moonlight Breakdown – a jazz trio that creates innovative interpretations of classic Latin samba music, mandolin-driven jazz tunes, and gypsy swing.

Lakewood’s Earth Day Celebration
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is held at Heritage Lakewood. Features music, food, art, exhibits and activities that spread environmental awareness. Take a nature walk. Check out electric transportation. Lots of food and drink.
Live musical performances this year by Pick & Howl and Super Magick.
Join an Earth Day “Parade of Species.” Kids, adults, and pets are invited to bring or wear an animal costume (or make an animal mask at the event), decorate wagons and strollers, bring an instrument and march through the event in celebration of all of the animal species with whom we share the earth. Meet at 2:30 p.m. near the gazebo to line up for the parade which starts at 3 p.m.

Earth Day Celebration
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adams County, in collaboration with the cities of Westminster, Northglenn, Thornton, Brighton, and Commerce City, is hosting its inaugural Earth Day Celebration this year at Bison Ridge Recreation Center.
The event will feature family-friendly activities, including live music by Chris Daniels and the Kings with Freddi Gowdy, food trucks, face painting, educational exhibits, and children’s activities.
Attendees can test drive electric vehicles and explore electric yard equipment, with trade-in vouchers available at participating Ace Hardware stores. Earth Day, Every Day in Lafayette
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Family-friendly event at Lafayette City Park with a Sustainable Makers Market, 40+ eco-exhibitors, tour of an Outdoor Classroom, performers Jeff & Paige at 10 a.m., live wild animals, electric vehicle showcase, scavenger hunt, food trucks and more.
