Friends of Chamber Music will close their Piano Series on Wednesday, April 10 with the spellbinding pianist Simone Dinnerstein, performing works by Couperin, Glass, Satie, and Schumann. The concert is in Gates Hall at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts on at 7:30 p.m.
Dinnerstein first attracted attention in 2007 with her self-produced recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. It was a remarkable success, reaching No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Classical Chart in its first week of sales.
“Dinnerstein is an artist of strikingly original ideas and irrefutable integrity,” wrote Patrick Rucker of The Washington Post, reviewing her December Kennedy Center performance. “These attributes, combined with elegance and grace, lend her music-making its captivating beauty.”
