Buntport Theater is staging ♥ Richard, a world premiere about Richard III enthusiasts, Victorian undergarments and the lying liars that make theater. Based, in part, on the discovery of Richard’s body under a parking lot 10 years ago and influenced by Shakespeare’s play, this production explores art as propaganda and questions our tumultuous relationship to history.
Taking place at an ill-fated meeting of the Richard III Society, ♥ Richard playfully blurs the lines between theater and real life, something not uncommon at Buntport.
Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. from April 8 to 30 (no performance on Sunday, April 17).
Admission is “name your price” to ensure everyone can enjoy the theater.
You do need to reserve your spot in advance as this is a small venue.
