Cósmico Americas Family-Friendly Festival

POSTED BY
Laura

music notes jazzThe Biennial of the Americas is an international festival of ideas, art and culture hosted in Denver. This year’s theme is “Empathy in Action.” The event assembles dynamic leaders to identify unique opportunities and solutions to shared challenges across the Americas from September 25 to 28. But don’t let the heady talk scare you away. The Biennial is also about food, music and fun. While the headline events (such as a symposium with Sir Richard Branson) have a fee or ticket requirement, many programs offer FREE entry.

Take a walk in someone else’s shoes and listen to their story at the Empathy Museum pop-up shoe shop at Tail Tracks Plaza on 16th Street between Wynkoop & Wewatta. This is FREE and open now through Friday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Choose from nine exciting (and FREE) Clínicas featuring international speakers on themes ranging from Artificial Intelligence to Sustainable Fashion and how empathy is fueling industry shifts. Clinicas offer participants an opportunity to connect with diverse leaders from across the Americas. There is no charge, but you do need to reserve a spot. You’ll want to scroll through the schedule here, find the event of interest, then click on it and get a ticket.

A panel at the Sie Film Center called “Empathy Through Film” Using Film and Story to Walk in Someone Else’s Shoes” is on Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s FREE, but you’ll want to reserve a ticket here.

Travel to the Amazon jungle through Jaguara, a spectacular light and sound show at Cósmico Americas on Saturday, September 28. Join the party — FREE of charge — at Civic Center Park as local and international acts perform from the spectacular Jaguara stage. The family-friendly event runs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

You’ll find information on other discussions, workshops, cultural programming across the city and the FQ Lounge, a space that will bring leaders together to activate change through pop-up experiences on the Biennial website.
