This event has been canceled for 2023. Dorothy may miss the Tin Man most of all, but we hold a particular fondness for the Scarecrow. Arvada will showcase scarecrows of all shapes, sizes and designs (the public can vote for their favorites) at its Annual Festival of Scarecrows on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Arvada Olde Town Square.
Free family fall fun features the scarecrow contest, a cone maze, giant vegetable contest, free hay rides, food and vendor booths. The Great Pumpkin Contest starts its weigh-in at 1:30 p.m. Plus, everyone can buy pumpkins, gourds and cornstalks.
At both 11 a.m. and noon, tiny ghosts and goblins march in the Costumed Kids’ Parade around Town Square.
