ArtPark Al Fresco Family Night

POSTED BY
Laura

Families fond of making art together will want to add Thursday nights to their August calendar. ArtPark Al Fresco Family Nights let participants make a host of unconventional and totally cool interactive objects together, from sewing Frankenzombie stuffed animals to drawing the world’s largest comic book. You’ll be working in all types of mediums with art making for every age.

Creations are not your typical construction paper crafts or macaroni necklaces. These projects tap into the full creative power of RiNo’s incredible artist community and include themes and ideas that resonate with kids today, like MineCraft and Among Us.

For instance, the August 3 project is 8 Bit and Minecraft Perler Beads Jeepers Creepers and SUS. Crafters will play with fuse beads and looking at ways to make retro arcade and game inspired designs. Instructors will offer tips for giving your projects 3D effects and even unconventional patterns for  grownup friends.

Family Nights run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Workshops are free with all supplies included, but you will need to pre-register. You can do so here.

They will be practicing social distance protocols with lots of hand washing. Kids, teens and their adult friends are all encouraged to participate with individual and group projects. Pets welcome, and snacks and drinks will be available if you don’t want to bring your own.

ArtPark Al Fresco is a partnership of the RiNo Art District, Denver Public Library, and Two Bee Industries.

ArtPark is located at 3400 Arkins Ct., Denver.
