Tonight! Visit 15 Museums on Saturday, November 5 For Free

Museum-drawingDenver’s Night at the Museums sees more than a dozen museums open their doors to the public for FREE on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., as part of Denver Arts Week. Each museum promises special entertainment and activities, including music, dance and storytelling. There’s even a FREE shuttle to whisk you between most museums.

The following museums are scheduled to participate. A few will be free all day or open prior to 5 p.m., so be sure to check individual websites for details. You don’t need to reserve tickets at most of the museum, except for Kirkland and the Denver Police Museum.


American Mountaineering Museum

Located in Golden, the Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum is America’s first and only museum dedicated to the heroism, technology, culture and spirit of mountaineering.

Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus

Experience hands-on, interactive and totally one-of-a-kind exhibits that champion the wonder and joy of childhood.

Clyfford Still Museum

Modern art lovers will love this museum. Check out Explore You Select: A Community-Curated Exhibition, a show featuring Still’s artworks chosen by the public. Discover never-before-seen paintings and vote for your favorite artwork on an interactive kiosk at the end of the exhibition.

Denver Art Museum

Wander the new exhibit areas and catch the final weekend of Georgia O’Keeffe: Photographer.

Denver Botanic Gardens

Explore art and science in the Freyer – Newman Center for Science, Art & Education. Watch a cooking demonstrations by Honduras-born chef Edwin Sandoval. Visit the art galleries or catch a botanical art demonstrations and learn about plants and mushrooms. Check the Gardens’ website for a full schedule.

Denver Police Museum & Denver Firefighters Museum

Both museums will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Denver Police Museum will host a special bus tour which will depart the Denver Firefighters Museum at 4 p.m. (returns at 6:30 p.m.) visiting the locations where four brave Officers lost their lives. Spaces are limited. Reserve your spot by calling 720-913-6779. The Denver Firefighters Museum will be open for tours of the firehouse and its collection of historic fire engines and Denver police cars.

Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Enjoy art demonstrations, drop-in workshops, night-sky telescope viewing, and exhibitions. General admission is free with no ticket needed. Tickets will be available to purchase for additional experiences: Apollo: When We Went to the Moon and Laser Fantasy.

Dinosaur Ridge

Discover dinosaur tracks during a flashlight tour of the tracksite, and enjoy track paintings and dinosaur crafts.

Forney Museum of Transportation

Stroll through this one-of-a-kind collection that includes a Union Pacific ‘Big Boy’ Steam Locomotive and enjoy favorites like Amelia Earhart’s 1923 Goldbug Kissel.

Four Mile Historic Park

Join in on nighttime tours, storytelling and s’mores.

History Colorado Center

Explore and experience more than 15 different exhibitions, such as Building Denver: Visions of the Capital City, a time-traveling adventure into Denver’s past, present, and future.

Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art

Time travel through about 150 years of art. The evolving collections contain more than 30,000 works by some 1,500 artists and designers, with about 4,400 works on view. Space is limited, so you need to register in advance on the museum’s website.

Molly Brown House Museum

Tour the home of Denver’s unsinkable Margaret “Molly” Brown, who was a world-renowned activist, performer and traveler.

Museo de las Americas

Experience the premier Latin American Art Museum in the Rocky Mountain region. Enjoy the exhibit “Luis Barragán: a Legacy. New Works Undressing the Mexican Soul”.

Transportation Between Museums

FREE shuttle buses will stop at (or nearby) most museums, beginning at 5 p.m. Final shuttle routes depart at 10 p.m. from all museums.

Dinosaur Ridge and the American Mountaineering Museum are NOT on the shuttle routes.
