Museum-drawingDenver’s Night at the Museums sees more than a dozen museums open their doors to the public for FREE on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., as part of Denver Arts Week. Each museum promises special entertainment and activities, including music, dance and storytelling. There’s even a FREE shuttle to whisk you between most museums.

The following museums are scheduled to participate. A few will be free all day or open prior to 5 p.m., so be sure to check individual websites for details.

Center For Colorado Women’s History

Enter at 1310 Bannock Street for a three-room tour. See collection items from the Rumors of Bloomers exhibit.

Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus

Experience hands-on, interactive and totally one-of-a-kind exhibits that champion the wonder and joy of childhood. Launch rockets in Energy, see who can make the biggest bubble, create a masterpiece in The Art Studio and more.

Clyfford Still Museum

Modern art lovers will love this museum. Check out Dialogue and Defiance: Clyfford Still and the Abstract Expressionists. The exhibition considers the nuanced ways in which Clyfford Still was part of an artists’ community in the late 1940s and early 1950s, despite his protestations to the contrary.

Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL)

Explore the CELL’s immersive experience investigating the root causes of violent extremism and learn how to help prevent future threats. Through interactive displays and multimedia presentations, you’ll see how world leaders use language as a weapon and how state-sponsored terrorism affects both domestic and global security. The museum will be open and free from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Denver Art Museum

Wander the exhibit areas and catch Composing Color: Paintings by Alama Thomas from the Smithsonian American Art Museum among other art displays. The new exhibition Wild Things: The Art of Maurice Sendak requires a special ticket ($15).

Denver Botanic Gardens

Explore art and science in the Freyer – Newman Center for Science, Art & Education. Discover three exhibitions, attend a performance lecture by artist Nathan Hall, and be inspired by floral creations by Arthur Williams of Babylon Floral. Note: There is no garden access during Free Night at the Museums.
