Denver Art Society will host a Zoot Suit fashion show as part of its Santa Fe Nights on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The evening is a celebration of soul, style, and the bold spirit of cultural expression. This FREE event is designed not only to admire art and fashion, but to honor stories etched into the seams of fabric, the frame of a photograph, and the pulse of a movement that still echoes today.

The Zoot Suit fashion show showcases the timeless of Pachuco style. These sharp silhouettes wide shoulders, high-waisted trousers, long coats aren’t just about fashion.
They’re about resistance, and pride. About making a statement when the world tried to silence voices of color.
Originating in the 1930s and 40s, the Zoot Suit wasn’t just a look—it was a cultural revolution. In a time when young Chicano, Black, and Filipino men and women faced discrimination and marginalization, the Zoot Suit became a symbol of defiance.
It said “I am here, I am proud and I will not shrink to fit your mold.”
The Pachuco culture born from barrios and big bands, jazz clubs and protest marches, brought not just fashion but language, attitude, and rhythm.
This show pays tribute to that legacy. The models walking a runway, the storytellers and each suit you see is a piece of history brought to life.
Special guest artist include: Rockabilly’s Vixens, Lolly Art, Cherie Niola, Rick Murray, Elan with Band 4 Bands, Daniel Romero, Avenue Angel cc, Al Raza Compas, Alexa singer, Natacha Admin, and RockArt Productions.
In addition, a photography expo captures the heart of identity—featuring artists whose lenses tell stories of heritage, rebellion, pride, and passion.
From street life to studio portraits, these images offer an unfiltered look at the vibrant, resilient communities that shape our cultural landscape.
734 Santa Fe Dr., Denver.
