Calling all yarn enthusiasts. Do you enjoy crocheting, knitting, spinning, or weaving? You aren’t alone. There is a very vibrant fiber arts community in the metro area. The Wild and Wooly Colorado Yarn Crawl (WWCYC) is the Metro-Denver fiber arts community’s social event of the year. The yarn crawl is a nine-day event, August 2 to 10, 2025, where yarn enthusiasts participate in self-guided tours to explore local yarn shops.
Eight stores are combining efforts to host the event which runs from daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Find a list of shops here.
Crawlers travel to each of the host shops to get a stamp for their “passport”, indicating a visit to the stores. Passports are available here.
As crawlers visit each shop, they register for prizes, meet other crawlers, explore new and interesting things that each shop offers, browse through the yarns and notions, talk to owners, and find their next sparks of inspiration. Visiting all eight stores makes you eligible for the Finisher Grand Prize.
The host shops will have:
Store Prizes — Each shop will have its own prize basket to give away at the end of the crawl, so enter to win at each stop.
Finisher Prizes — If you finish the entire crawl over the nine days — visit all 8 shops — you will receive a finisher prize when you hand in your completed passport at your last shop, and you’ll be entered to win in our Grand Prize drawing.
Grand Prizes – Three finishers will win a fiber arts-themed curated gift bundle.
Free Patterns – Some stores will feature free patterns that are unique to their store.
New for 2025: Crawlers will be able to support our wider community through the charitable donation of finished handmade items.
All of the WWCYC stores will happily welcome donations of hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, socks, and blankets. Each shop will have a box to collect donated items. Cash donations will also be gladly accepted if preferred.
